Smith's Vacation Cottages

We are located just 20 miles north of Augusta, Ga and the location of The Masters Golf Tournament.  Rates during Masters week may vary slightly. 

All units have central heat and air-conditioning, microwave oven, coffee pot, refrigerator/freezer, electric range, gas grill on porch.  

Clothes Washer and Dryers are available.

If you would like to have groceries placed in your refrigerator we can preshop for you if you provide us with a shopping list. 

The closest full service grocery store is 13 miles away in the town of McCormick.

Convenience stores, gas station and bait shops are within walking distance.  Take out pizza and a breakfast and lunch grill is also nearby.

We are located approximately 4 miles from the Thurmond Lake visitor's center.

Your hosts are Bob and Rita Smith.  Our home is located adjacent to the cottages and we will be happy to answer any of your questions. 

Outside water and electricity are available for charging your boating equipment and for washing down your water toys.

Downtown McCormick contains several interesting art galleries, consignment shops, and antique shops. 

Kayak and Canoe Rental

These rentals are available just around the corner for a fee of $25.00 per day.  This includes life jackets and paddles.  These are provided by Modoc Sporting Center on Highway 28  (864) 333-5552.

Golf

We are members of a private club which has 2 outstanding golf courses.  We can make reservations for you at either the Tara or Monticello Golf Courses in Savannah Lakes Village

Fishing

Thurmond Lake is home to many Bass fishing tournaments and is one of the nation's best fishing lakes.  You can also fish in our private pond.

Hunting

The property is located in the middle of Sumter National Forest and is surrounded by many public hunting areas.  Your host Robert Smith can locate you in any of several deer stands.  Mr. Smith is an avid hunter and fisherman and loves to swap lies with our guests.

Our private pond is loaded with catfish, brim and shellcrackers.
